movement. music. play

Events that combines live improvised violin
with the movement and structure of yoga sequences.

As we move, we listen to music differently, absorb it more fully,
feel it more deeply.

YogaPlay shifts the music out of the concert hall and the movement out of the studio. Both these elements respond to each other and ultimately become the sum of all parts by the end of the event.

The audience is the third artistic entity, its collective energy informing the movement and music to create a unique experience at each event.

The invisible wall between performer and audience is done away with, creating one collective consciousness.

YogaPlay aims to break down the invisible wall between audience and performer with movement and music. What can be static becomes a dynamic interplay between the two.

I’m not interested in how people move; I’m interested in what makes them move
— Pina Bausch

Yogaplay Official Launch

On Sunday 9th December, 2018, we officially launched YogaPlay with an event in Manly on Sydney’s northern beaches. Featuring Maddy Boud (creator and violinist) creating the soundscapes and Tara D’cruz-Noble leading the yoga sequences, we delved into a very special evening of shared space, music and restorative yoga.
